A Hundred Ravens over the years

I think it's fitting to talk about my experience with A Hundred Ravens yarn today.  3 years ago and change was the first time I knit with one of Kate's lovely yarns.  It was the, now discontinued, Underhill base.  (My photography skills at the time were...a work in progress).

Let me tell you the story of how I got this yarn.  In May of 2011 I found myself at my very first Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival.  I had plans to meet a lion by the name of Kate.  OK she's not really a lion, but her avatar on Ravelry is, and I will always think of her as a lion first.  I think it's fitting.  Anyhow, we met and wound up spending the whole day together.  At some point she mentioned she was getting into dyeing, and would I like any yarn?  And then she opens her bag and shows off some lovelies she brought with.  And just like that, I was hooked.   The first one's free you know!

Over the years Kate has not only fed my addiction love of her yarn, she's opened her home and life to me.  Her vibrant yarn is a great match for the person she is.  Just look at some of the pretties she's sent home with me.

And here is my favorite project to date.  The pattern is from the amazing author Kim Harrison and can be found here.
